Riet Dams, Ph.D. is the Global Head of Drug Product Research & Development at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, where she leads the team responsible for advancing innovative drug delivery solutions from discovery through commercialization across the Synthetic Molecule Value Stream, including small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides, and other beyond-rule-of-5 modalities.
With more than 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D and CRO environments, Riet has held a range of scientific and leadership roles. Since joining Johnson & Johnson in 2014, she has assumed positions of increasing responsibility, helping drive innovation in product and manufacturing technologies that enable next-generation therapies.
Riet holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Ghent University, completed in collaboration with the U.S. National Institutes of Health, and is a trained pharmacist. She is passionate about advancing science, fostering collaboration, developing talent, and accelerating the delivery of innovative medicines to patients worldwide.
